HK/Shenzhen/Guangzhou trip - Part I

I think I have to write part by part, if not this will be a very long blog since I am a long winded women too..hehe..

22/10/2005, Saturday We are taking China Airlines to Hong Kong. Is a morning flight, 8.10am, wow, damm early man…mean we have to reach KLIA at least by 6.30am. Then from my house to airport need approximately 1 ½ hr..that’s mean we have to leave from house by 5.00am, then have to wake up at 4.00am!! aiyo, for sure Wien will lau kai if wake her up in such a early time as she still dating with her prince in the dreamland. So before this, we keep remind her that we have to wake up when the sky still black black, cannot cry wor…

At 4.30am only I wake her up, lucky she did not cry but still with sleepy face, poor girl! Thought she will sleep in the car while heading to airport, but she did not sleep, just lying lazily on my lap. SIL & FIL accompany us, as SIL will drive back the car then. Normally when we travel, they are the one who will send/fetch us to/from airport.

Wien seem happy in the airport, keep walking/running around; give her milk also she refuse, maybe too excited la..

Left : This is the flight we took, Wien said the flight's mouth was 扁嘴巴, so she also change her mouth like it when daddy took the photo... Right: Does Wien look like Ah Lian/Ah Hui?

The flight journey took about 3 ½ hour, Wien also did not sleep; keep talking to us & see through the window. She got a small present from the stewardess, is a coloring book with color pencil.

Our tour less than 15 people, so there is no local tour guide follow us from Malaysia, only reach HK will have HK tour guide, similar to free & easy tour. Reach HK airport, tour guide transfer us to hotel, then free at leisure for afternoon time. Hong Kong Hotels really small, after put in the luggage, seem like not much space for us to move around! Our room has extra bed for Wien, so that she can sleep comfortably, without squeezing with us. After settle all the thing, I bath Wien first, after that we look for restaurant to have our lunch first. Check with hotel staff, there are some restaurants nearby hotel but open at 6pm (so late!!), only available is the hawker food. I reject hawker food as my stomach not fully recover so I have to be careful. We just walk around to try our luck…then we found there is a McDonald nearby. Ok la, just take it….regardless my painful stomach, as daddy & Wien already hungry.

After lunch, about 2.30pm, Wien claimed she is tired. So we walk back to hotel and let her nap; we also tired as wake up so early this morning. But Wien did not sleep, she still mumble mumble on the bed, so me and hubby just manage to have cat nap. So by 5pm, we decide to explore HK Street, got a map from lobby and ask hotel staff some questions. They suggest we can take MRT to go 旺角 (Mongkok) since there is a 麻油地(Ma You Ti) MRT station nearby. The streets around the hotel quite crowded, also the road seem a bit narrow. I will get lost if walk alone, lucky hubby has good direction, so just follow him, with the map’s help. Found the麻油地MRT station, only need one stop will reach旺角. In旺角, will have 女人街,exactly like KL’s Petaling Street la. If you have good bargaining skill, for sure you can buy many things there. I din buy anything there as my stomach make me not feeling good; diarrhoea ok liao , I just feel stomach pain. I only bought for Wien a set of rabbit suit ( with ribbon, tail & rabbit ear some more) for Halloween purposes. Along Mongkok, can see many electronic, hand phone & camera shops, there are cheap as tax free in HK. Car also tax free, no wonder those HK movie star can change sporty car within some months! Wien claimed she is tired, and want me to carry her. How to carry? She at least 15kg now, some more my stomach still can feel the pain. Daddy persuade her to walk, then she said : 我的脚酸了啦!!Poor daddy, have to carry her lor, if not she will just standing there without moving le!!

After dinner, back to hotel 会周公…..ZzzzzZzzzzz….

23/10/2005, Sunday. 7.30am, tour guide fetch us from the hotel, brought us to have dim sum as breakfast. Tour guide said lot of HK star like to have dim sum there, perhaps we can meet one of them..but no le. No upset la as I also dun have any HK idol.

After breakfast, heading to Victoria Park (太平山)to view HK scenery. From there we can view most of the buildings were build very close to each other as the land there extremely expensive. Later went to 浅水湾,nice beach and clean too! There is one Chinese temple there. The other part of the beach have many beautiful condominium, those are 高级住宅区, according to the tour guide, many famous HK stars stay there, such as Jackie Chan, 梁家辉等等。。As they say fengsui there very good; also one of the expensive land in HK. We also went to Chinese Herbal shop & Jewellery Factory for shopping. These kind of places sure will not miss out by travel agent la as they knew tourist sure will spend money when come to travel. I din buy jewellery here as there are too expensive for me. But I did buy something from the herbal shop, but forgot what to call the name liao. It is same kind with dried scallop but contained more nutrient than scallop ( according to the staff there la). Hardly find in Malaysia, so I tempted to buy but the price not cheap though. I just bought for 5 两, cost me HKD450. Never mind, just to have a try.

P/s: when back from the trip, I make porridge with it for Lyon, the taste is great! Not bad..

HK scenery view from Victoria Park & some HK people live in the boat (can see the kitchen clearly while we on the boat ride that cost HKD50 each pax.

Lunch time we have 8 courses of 潮州菜, nice meal. I have problem with Wien during meal time, she quite a picky eater. I have to persuade her to eat each time, quite angry with her too. So I always have to prepare some biscuit or small cake/bread in her small bag. If not, after short while she will claim she hungry.

After lunch about 1.30pm, we went to HK Ocean Park. At first our itinerary is not included Ocean Park, when we reach HK, the local tour guide told Wien that tomorrow Kor Kor bring you to Ocean Park and play ya, I thought he was kidding with Wien but after confirmed with him, he said got wor…me so happy!! Because we plan to extend extra night in HK after the tour just to bring Wien to Ocean Park, now no need already…yeah! But half day in Ocean Park seem like not enough time to finish all the games/rides la, the weather quite hot too! I forgot to bring along water, end up have to buy from stall. Guess how much it cost? HKD14 ( about RM7) just for a 500ml water le, really like Gold water…no choice, have to buy too, if not we will die due to dehydration.

There is a dolphin & sea lion show, but too crowded ( a lot tourist from mainland); daddy let Wien sit on his shoulder, so she can see the whole show. I am too short, only can see the show via other tourist’s digital cam; this people zoom the image, so I can see clearly too..haha.. Great show..those dolphin so clever & well trained..

There is an aquarium that same as Aquaria, KL & Underwater World, Langkawi. I never been Aquaria KL, so cannot compare; but this one much better & bigger than Underwater World, also lots of fish types too! Of course la, compare the entrance fee then will know already..

On and off Wien will claimed she is tired , she want us to carry her!

Ocean Park close at 6.00pm and the tour guide request us to be assembled at exit gate at 5.30pm. But we not manage finish walking the whole park. I believe if whole day here, sure have fun! By 4.30pm we have to take cable down to exit gate, due to long queue. By the time our turn to take cable, it already 5.00pm. At this time, also sunset liao, can feel so windy & start cool too, I like this kind of weather!

Wien first time on cable car & carousal...

By 6.00pm only we reach at the exit gate, the tour guide was waiting there already. After this we have to heading to Shenzhen by train, only 3 of us, other tour members have different itinerary with us. By the time we reach Shenzhen is already 7.30pm, not yet taken dinner le. In Shenzhen is another tour guide entertain us, is a china girl. She brought us for dinner first, later only check in into hotel. Wien start lau kai as she not nap the whole day today, she also refuses taking her dinner. Finally hubby managed to feed her some. She scares her daddy more than mummy. So now onwards, I will let daddy feed her.

To be continued....
